UH Veterans Office Can Use OUR Help (Calling all Veterans - Feb 17th)

All joking aside.

It has come to my attention, that on Friday, February 17th there is going to be a public comment period from 11:45am to Noon in reference to the UH Veterans Service Office budget.

The Veterans Office budget has been lacking as of late, and it is time for UH Veteran students to come and help out those in the Veterans Office who have helped us in the past, by speaking and helping them get more funding and personnel to make the Veterans Office more effective in helping UH Veterans with their campus needs.

If you have some free time on Friday in the late morning, please come and say a few words on behalf of the Veterans Office. Tell the SFAC what they have done for you. To participant, go to the Bluebonnet Room on the UC Second Floor on Friday, February 17th, at 11:45am. It won't take long.

I know the UH Veterans Office has helped out a lot of us in one way or another over the years, and they have really been getting the short end of the budget as of late, and its time we UH Veterans step up to the plate and give sometime back.

I got some numbers from my Taj Mahal friend The Shadow and the numbers for the International Student and Scholar Services Office is almost ten times that of the Veterans Office. I wonder how much UH spends on protecting gay marriage each year? I bet its more than what it spends on UH Veterans.

If you are a Veteran and unaware of what the Veterans Office does, they:
If you don't know, UH played an integral part in educating returning Veterans from WWII. They play a part in shaping the university as to what it is today, and its time for us Veterans to give a little back.

So UH Veterans please do your part to make the UH Veterans Office better for now and in the future.

It is going to be in the bluebonnet room I'm sure, that is where all SFAC presentations always are. That is in the UC second floor.
Hey guys all joking aside. This is an issue that all of us should care about even if your a Liberal like me that gets attacked here all of the time. I don't agree with the war, but I think we should all agree that veterans coming home should get whatever help they need for making the adustemtn back into "The World". We should not let them end up under a bridge like alot of our Vietnam veterans just because we hate the war and don't like what some veterans like liberal hater say. If we had done more, perhaps Liberal Hater would have gotten the counseling he obviously needed when he got out and we would not have this blog.
Folk listen to Anon on this issue. We need to take care of our Veterans.

I hope that Liberal and Conservative Veterans show up and defend the Veterans Office.

Anon is also right, just as the brutality of the Green Dragoons in the movie "The Patriot" made "The Ghost," so has the audacity of UH liberalism made me.
Hawk or dove, Liberal or Conservative, secular progressive or traditionalist, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green, or any other, those who will not support their servicemembers and our veterans regardless of their political beliefs do not deserve to call themselves Americans. Veterans should not be getting the shit end of the stick on this campus or anywhere else. Support them now and always no matter what your feelings on this war or any other.

I will declare a unilateral Cease Fire on the Libs effective immediately until after Friday's meeting in the hopes that this act of good faith will encourage even our liberal detractors and sparring partners to do the right thing and support Veterans' Services. We all need to do this one.
Apparently the presentation for the office will be from 9:45 until 10:15 that morning and the public comment session where people can speak will be from 11:45 until 12:00 like liberal hater says. it would probably be good to come to the presentation for the department so you can see what it does for people, and then come and speak up at the public comment part. The guys are right here we should all want to do this for our vets, even if we happen to be against the war.

A Veteran with no political affilliation whatsoever.
Finally something useful and positive on this site. Bravo!
